Authorities confirmed that an 18-year-old student connected to Loyola University Chicago was critically injured during the incident shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday while walking with friends near campus. The student, identified as Sheridan Gorman of Westchester County, New York, was later pronounced unresponsive at the scene.

Suspect in Custody as Investigation Continues
